Reviews of Ciclogreen and answers about payments

We understand the frustration of seeing your CicloBono balance pending certification after carpooling. We want to explain what happens to that balance and the CAE certification steps.

Official update

New certifications completed

We’re pleased to let you know that we have new certified journeys, specifically those made through March 31, 2026.

If you carpooled during that period, the corresponding balance will now be available to redeem.

We will continue to share updates on the certification of journeys from the remaining months. April’s data is now at the final stage of the certification process with the Ministry, so we hope to share more good news with you very soon.

We’re sorry you have to wait longer than expected for the balance from April and the following months to become available. Although we do everything we can to speed things up, journey validation and certification are part of the official CAE system promoted by the Ministry, so the process does not depend on us.

What you can do without any further waiting is earn €5 for every friend you invite : )

Thank you for your patience and for continuing to trust Ciclogreen.

The direct answer

Why can't I redeem my balance?

Because the balance pending certification still relates to journeys whose energy savings are being processed. It differs from the available balance, which can be redeemed when it meets the app's conditions, including the €10 minimum.

Your balance from 2026 journeys does not disappear when it becomes “pending certification”. We know waiting can be disappointing when you have already made the journeys. That is why we explain the process here and avoid giving a redemption date we cannot yet confirm.

We listen to you to keep improving

At Ciclogreen, carpooling generates energy savings that first appear as a pending balance. Before you can redeem it, the journeys must be verified and the CAE must be issued and sold. You may therefore have redeemed a balance before and have a pending balance now: each period follows its own certification process.

This review reminds us that we need to explain the process and timescales better. Pending balances are not lost: they remain generated balances awaiting certification. We are improving the information so you can always know the status of your balance.

Commitment and continuity

A system that keeps evolving

Faster certification

The CAE system is progressing, and we keep working to speed up certification and make balances available as soon as possible.

Experience and specialised technology

Over 10 years in sustainable mobility underpin technology adapted to the requirements of the Ministry and the CAE system.

Built to grow

CicloBono relies on a platform built to keep running, grow and evolve alongside sustainable mobility for many years.

How the financial incentive is certified

The stages of a certificate of energy savings

The administration takes part in issuing the certificate. The reward is funded by selling it to participants in the CAE system; the Ministry does not pay directly for each gift card.

Ciclogreen prepares and tracks the files and can ask about their status. Verification and the administrative decision are the responsibility of other parties. Our income linked to these journeys also depends on the CAE being certified and sold.

What they also appreciate about Ciclogreen

The wait to redeem balances from journeys subject to CAE deserves an explanation. These reviews describe real experiences with the app: rewards already redeemed, shared journeys, challenges and mobility habits.

Payment took longer than expected, but I have now received payment for trips through 31 March. Let’s hope the next ones take less time.

It took a loooong time, but the money has arrived.

It works very well for recording trips, but they are certifying them very, very slowly, although that is probably more up to the Ministry.

Specific answers

Frequently asked questions about payments and redemptions

How should I interpret the balance shown as pending certification in the app?

This is the balance generated by your verified journeys that is still awaiting certification by the Ministry. Once certification is complete, it will move to your available balance so you can redeem it.

What is the difference between recording a journey and having an available balance?

Recording a journey allows us to collect and document the details of your trip. For the balance associated with those kilometres to be available for redemption, the energy savings must complete the certification process established by the CAE system.

This process involves several parties, including an independent verifier, regional coordinators, the Ministry and energy companies, each with their own role.

My balance from 2026 journeys is still pending: is there a confirmed redemption date?

The Ministry has certified journeys made up to 31 March 2026, and the balance for January, February and March is already available for redemption in your Ciclogreen wallet.

April’s data is in the final stage of certification with the Ministry, and we hope to share good news soon.

We are sorry you have to wait longer than expected for the balance generated by your shared journeys. Although we do everything we can to speed it up, journey validation and certification are part of the official CAE system promoted by the Ministry, so the process is outside our control.

We continue to work on a platform designed to grow and evolve in the long term and will keep you informed about future certifications.

Who can I ask about a pending payment?

Contact the Ciclogreen support team to check the status of your journeys.

What should I check in my profile before trying to redeem my balance?

To generate a balance from shared journeys and redeem it once those journeys have completed CAE certification, first activate CicloBono in the app.

To activate it, verify your identity by scanning both sides of your DNI, NIE or driving licence and taking a selfie.

Finally, check that your identity appears as verified.

That’s it!

I have recorded journeys but my identity is not verified: can I redeem my balance?

No. You must verify your identity so that your balance can complete certification and become available for redemption.

In the meantime, you can continue recording journeys, but new amounts will not be added to the balance pending certification. Your accumulated balance may temporarily disappear and the wallet may show a fictitious balance of €200.

Your balance is not lost: it remains blocked until verification is complete and the necessary requirements are met.

Do new journeys unlock the balance from earlier ones?

Accumulating more kilometres does not automatically release a pending balance. New eligible journeys generate their own savings pending certification by the Ministry; each journey must pass the applicable CAE system checks.

Why does redemption require more steps than journey validation?

Journey validation is part of the file. To enable redemption, the savings must also be verified, the journeys certified, and CAE issuance, registration and sale completed. Until then, the associated balance may remain pending.

I have a journey balance and an “Invite a friend” balance: are the redemption conditions the same?

The referral promotion is managed separately from the journey balance subject to CAE. When its conditions are met, the referral reward can be redeemed without waiting for journey certification, provided it appears as available and reaches the €10 minimum shown in the app. This does not make the journey balance pending certification available.

Can I keep using the app while my balance awaits certification?

Yes, you can record shared journeys and use the active features and challenges. If you continue accumulating journey balance subject to CAE, remember that it will also need certification before it can be redeemed.

It works similarly to cashback or a points programme: journeys generate a balance, which goes through an official validation process under the CAE system and is released once certified.

Should I claim my balance from the Ministry?

The money shown in your wallet as pending certification is not held in a bank account; it represents the value associated with your journeys as a reward for the energy savings generated.

Our technology meets the requirements set by the Ministry. The process still needs to progress through the steps and timeframes required by the CAE system.

What information should I include when reporting a balance issue?

Before contacting support, check that your journey details are correct and that CicloBono is activated in the app. If you need help, provide the email address associated with your account and the affected journeys so we can review your case.

If you shared any journey with someone who has not completed identity verification, the balance for those journeys will also remain blocked until that person is verified.

The balance will become available once the relevant identity verification and energy certification requirements have been completed.

These questions are based on the clarification thread published by Ciclogreen. We have clarified the CAE stages using official information about the system.
